Artists, architects, designers, researchers, growers, ecologists, cultural theorists and practitioners from across the Nordic region and beyond.
In total around 50 people will gather for the seminar, bringing together different practices, experiences and ways of thinking around art, architecture and ecology.

Eiichi Shimasaki, ICHI (J) is a Bristol-based Japanese experimental musician, instrument-maker and performance artist known for his playful, genre-defying music and handmade instruments. His idiosyncratic performances combine found objects, toys, homemade inventions and everyday materials into exuberant, rhythmic one-man shows that blur the boundaries between music, art and performance.

Färgfabriken (SE) Färgfabriken is a non-profit foundation and centre for contemporary art and architecture, housed in a former industrial building in Stockholm. Since 1995, it has been a platform for artistic exploration and transdisciplinary collaboration through exhibitions, talks, workshops and other cultural activities. By working experimentally across disciplines and borders, it brings together diverse perspectives to generate new ideas, knowledge and artistic practices. Färgfabriken also initiates collaborative and satellite projects with artists, architects, institutions and researchers worldwide. In response to rapid societal change and pressing challenges, Färgfabriken launched an architecture triennial in 2024—a recurring forum of exhibitions, workshops and conversations focused on architecture and future living environments, fostering dialogue, exchange and collaboration around our current and future living environments.

Patricia Vane, Skogen (SE) is an artist and the artistic director of Skogen in Gothenburg. She works across performance, movement practices, and graphic design.
Skogen is an artist-driven platform and a collective ecosystem for the performing arts, artistic research, collaborative creation, knowledge exchange, and resource sharing.

Ernesto Garcia (MX/SE) is an interior architect and furniture designer and PhD candidate. In his artistic research project Something is Broken, he explores the healing embedded in the concept of repair. As part of his research, he repairs places and objects, his own, others’, public and private. He approaches repair metaphorically, as something we need to engage in both as individuals and as a society.
IN THE PROGRAM- Is the Old Barrack Still Alive? Every repair is a conversation across time. A new layer is added, new relationships; new threads woven into the fabric of the building’s life. Originally clad in imitation wood paneling, later painted white, now the old barrack at Gylleboverket carries stains and marks; traces of what it has been through. In this session, we will listen to what the house has to tell us. Through conversation, sketching, and making, we will create a stencil-painted pattern that will grow from what is already there. Using egg-oil tempera, we will not erase but add to the building’s story.

Arja Kärkkäinen (FI) is a visual artist based in Finland whose research-led sculptural practice explores habitable sculptures and their relationship to climate change. Working across sculpture, moving image, and diverse techniques, she examines politics, social structures, and participation, often with a touch of black humour.

Meri Linna (FI) is a visual artist living and working in Finland. Her work explores time, interdependence, and our relationship with the world, critically questioning ideas of progress, competition, and technological advancement in favour of understanding the world as a living, interconnected network.
IN THE PROGRAM- Urn as a house A house is a storage place for our bodies, and the last house we inhabit is an urn—a final, radically reduced form of architecture. In this workshop, we explore the urn as a house that holds us after death, both metaphorically and concretely. Working with clay-based materials such as cob and bentonite, we will shape and build urns while reflecting on the relationships between body, material, dwelling, and mortality. Please wear clothes that may get dirty, as we will be working directly with clay.

Tideland Studios is a research-based design studio working across disciplines at the intersection of architecture, artistic expression, and holistic sustainability, creating narratives and spatial experiences that transform our perception of the built and natural environment.
Emma Rishög Holm (DK) PhD researcher at Aarhus School of Architecture. Her research focuses on marine sand extraction in Køge Bay and explores alternative material solutions for a more circular and environmentally sensitive construction industry.
IN THE PROGRAM – Occluded Depths brings to the surface the millions of cubic meters of sand dredged from the seabed to sustain modern construction. Through artistic and architectural inquiry, Simon Strøyer (Tideland Studio) and architect and PhD fellow Emma Rishøj Holm trace the spatial and ecological afterlives of this hidden extraction. Continuing through their respective projectsArchive of Endangered Spaces and Sediment Assemblies, the conversation weaves together methods of digital documentation and earth-based building practices. Join the curators for a conversation on architecture’s unseen material costs and pathways toward more careful approaches.

PerViktor Hjalmarsson (SE/FI) is a Swedish architect and artist living in the Finnish countryside, working across sculpture, text, and performance. Through absurd architecture that disrupts conventions of function and order, he challenges how we perceive space and society, using architecture as a speculative tool for dissolving rigid structures and imagining transformation.
IN THE PROGRAM- Absurd architecture: Absurd derives from the word ab and surdum. Ab means away from and surdum means deafness. I have used the absurd as a tool to de-connect from the what we are deaf from as a society.
In the workshop we will question what is a house and how we can challenge the thoughts we surround our judgment of a house with.
Can we consider the uncomfortable/unthinkable as a liberation and not a punishment?

Alyssa Coffin (US) (FI) is an interdisciplinary artist from the USA, based in Helsinki, Finland. Her work includes writing, spoken word, performance, moving image, and site-responsive structures. She collaborates with animate materials from the land to create primal structures for the body to remerge and be in dialogue with the earth and spirit. Her practice is grounded in attention, silence, and sensory embodied engagement.

Sabine Popp (NO) is a relational art worker, based on the Westcoast of Norway. Her artistic practice is an exploration of specific geographical places, and human beings’ relation to them through work and daily routines. Archive material, observational techniques and dialogue with representatives of professional or social groups, is brought in conjunction with corporeal experience from involvement with physical processes – always in search for the ritualistic in these doings. Throughout her doctoral project Agential Matter (Invisible Landscapes) she examined kelp forests along the Norwegian coast as ecologies of an extended mental, social and material community.

Laura Surhasto (FI) is a writer and producer based in Helsinki, Finland, interested in playfulness, creative sustainability and multispecies ethics. Combining writing and other experimental practices Laura’s work explores the question of a meaningful life within the planetary boundaries.

Sarah Kaushik (IN/NL) As a scenographer, dramaturg, and immersive storyteller, I work at the intersection of performance, spatial dramaturgy, and animist-informed pedagogy. I treat place as a collaborator, exploring landscapes as living archives of human and more-than-human histories. Through listening, walking, performance, poetry, and installation, I create participatory experiences that draw on oral traditions, mythologies, and belief systems. My work investigates how participatory scenography reshapes relationships between body, memory, ecology, communities and place.

Viktor Rundgren- Människokonsten (SE) Reletional art evolved from a fairytale life on a ship in Strängnäs. From scraps of consumerist culture ”Människokonsten” creates guerrilla sculptures, costumes and props for theatrical scenarios. The audience is commonly invited to participate in the form of competition, co-creation or ritual.

Sara Li Borg (SE) Sarali Borg creates sculptural sound installations that explore the space between signal, body, and event. Through sound, vibration, and technological connections, her works translate distant occurrences into subtle movements and resonances, revealing invisible forces within the physical space.

Sören Lose (DK) is a Danish artist whose practice spans site-specific installation, photography, video, architecture and text. His work often explores relationships between places, landscapes, history, and human experience, and how landscapes, architecture and places hold memories and embody cultural identity. Moving between documentary observation and more poetic forms of storytelling. In recent years, his practice has increasingly focused on site-specific, ecological and socially engaged projects, combining art, architecture, traditional craftsmanship and natural or reused materials.

Camilla Nørgard (DK)
is a Danish visual artist working site-specifically with place, material, memory and local history. Her practice often involves collecting and reusing materials from a particular site, creating long-term projects at the intersection of art, architecture and landscape through collaboration with local communities and other disciplines. ”When does an art project end, and what happens afterwards? I work with everyday life resources, physical presence, long term commitments, local community. And that includes maintenance and operation as a positive thing. Inspired by diverse methods from other disciplines, I create site specific assemblage/collage structures connected to the history and material of a local context, with focus on tactile experience and a complex playfulness.”

David Furuholm (SE) is a building educator and ecopedagogue with a background in tiny house construction and building education, including at Egnahemsfabriken on the island of Tjörn and within the Ecopedagogical Association.

Cornelia Altgård (SE) is a grower and pedagogue based in Malmö, working at the intersection of food, farming, ecology and social practice. Through gardening, communal cooking and shared meals, she explores how growing and making food can create relationships between people, places and the more-than-human world. Her practice is hands-on and rooted in collective learning, care and long-term ecological thinking.
Cornelia is one of the cooks at the seminar and also works as one of the facilitators at Gylleboverket Transission lab where she hosts the food lab – Fermentarium.

Matti Nilsson (SE) is a musician, composer, songwriter and performing artist. His practice also extends into contemporary circus and performance, often combining music, movement and live experimentation.
Matti is part of the team at Gylleboverket, where he works as one of the site’s facilitators. He is also one of the seminar cooks, bringing an interest in food, fermentation and communal cooking into the programme.

Kristian Anshelm (SE) is the project manager for Smålandstriennalen. Smålandstriennalen is a recurring art event taking place across Småland and Öland every three years. Organised by Konstfrämjandet Småland, the triennial brings together artists, cultural institutions, local initiatives and communities across the region, creating a decentralised platform for contemporary art, dialogue and cultural exchange. The 2026 edition explores the theme “Oro – Konst, beredskap, motstånd”.
Johanna Billing (SE) is a Swedish artist and curator.
Tor Lindstrand (SE) is an architect, researcher and professor at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design and Blekinge Institute of Technology.
Philippe Blanchard (FR/SE) is a choreographer and multidisciplinary artist.
IN THE PROGRAM- Smålandstriennalen with Kristian, Johanna, Tor and Philippe will hold a talk and listening circle out from the theme of this years Smålandstriennal- Oro: konst, motstånd, beredskap.
The conversation will draw on the work Johanna and Tor carried out in Norrahammar, commissioned by ArkDes and the Municipality of Jönköping – Leaving the Factory – Konstkartan , as well as Philippe Blanchard’s site-specific work The Upheaval, produced by Skånes Dansteater in collaboration with Malmö Sommarscen.
The conversation aims to offer a critical perspective on the relationship between architecture and art, and between architects and artists. It will also explore the moral dilemmas we face when working with places, spaces, communities, and people in our time.

Gylleboverket artist group (Etta Säfve and Jona Elfdahl) (SE)
have collaborated since 2012.Working across site specific installation, performance, ritual, film, text, eco-social sculpture and ecological practice.
Alongside their artistic practice they are Artistic Directors of Gylleboverket, an Interdisciplinary Platform for Contemporary Art and Resilience on a former scrap yard in southern Sweden, which they have developed since 2010 as a ongoing social sculpture and test station for artistic inqueries. The platform hosts exhibitions, residencies, festivals, workshops and long-term collaborations between artists, researchers, place and local communities as well as a transitionlab.
Their parallel work at Boat in the Forest, a permaculture farm and artistic research site, has resulted in one of Sweden’s first larger nut orchards together with food forests, biodiversity systems andregenerative landscape design. The site functions simultaneously as a living laboratory for their artistic practice.
