.10 september . .3 november
Plats: Form & Design center, Malmö

Gylleboverket Artis Group in collaboration with illustrator Lina Ekstrand participates in the group exhibition The great repair at Form&Design Center Malmö.

The work they present is based on their work at the farm Boat in the forest- harbour for radical nomads.

In relation to the exhibition Form&design center also hosts a fielstrip – ”School of repair: working with the existing” to the farm on Friday 13 September. To participate- follow this link: FIELDTRIP

The Great Repair Moves North is based on the exhibition The Great Repair, a project initiated by ARCH+ in collaboration with the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, ETH Zürich and the University of Luxembourg. Form/Design Center presents the exhibition in a condensed version and complements it with new contributions from the Nordic countries.

The exhibition is structured around seven topics that highlight the processes related to the maintenance and repair of buildings, cities and landscapes at various scales: from the daily rituals of caretaking to examples of construction practices that prioritize working with existing structures rather than replacing them with new ones. Through videos, models, installations, original drawings, and prototypes, the exhibition showcases over twenty approaches from both emerging and established international artists and architectural firms that render repair tangible as a new design paradigm.

When considered through the lens of repair, architecture also becomes accessible to everyone as the scale of care extends beyond the realm of professionals, enabling everyone to participate in repairing their immediate surroundings and addressing any injustices they observe there. Let’s repair!

GYLLEBOVERKET ON THE WORK WITH BOAT IN THE FOREST

The Boat in the Forest farm is part of an artistic practice and a process-oriented platform for exploring degrowth and what Gylleboverket call dark permaculture.
It is a holitic design in the intersection between  the political, philosophical, art, practical work with hands in the ground, the poetic and the spiritual. Being in and with the unknown, keeping company with what we cannot weigh or measure, the elusive mystery that the living carries.
To move away from our societies anthropocentrism and urge to control nature, towards a deeper understanding of how we can be an active part of the world with humbleness and care.

At the site hundreds of nut trees and edible perennials has been planted. A hole in dug in silence over the course of a year, together with passersby and people from the neighborhood.
Here we are trying out how we can source our food from living perennual ecosystems, close resource loops, and build deeper relationships with the landscape, the more-than-human world, ourselves, and each other.

“There is a magical line between here and the trees. In it, there is a small opening. Through that opening, we sneak in to grow our wildness. Nature in us and us in nature. Building something where our inner knowledge of a regenerative, interconnected world can rise to the surface of the deep waters we are all in”.
“Perhaps our work is a declaration of love, to what we carry within us and what carries us within itself. To the power of love. To life that wants to live.”
